In an online Q A with fans, Raheem Sterling refused to rule out the possibility of returning to Liverpool at some point in the future.
Sterling s professional career started at Liverpool in 2012, when he was promoted from their U-23 setup to the first team. He arrived to Merseyside two years earlier, straight from the U-18s at Queens Park Rangers. He went on to make a total of 129 appearances for the Reds, scoring 23 goals and laying on 25 assists.
In the summer of 2015, he refused an offer of a lucrative new contract in order to force a move to Manchester City where he has won the league twice so far, and the way it happened left a sour taste for the Anfield faithful. Since then, the winger has so far failed to score a single goal against Liverpool, and where he was once a very popular youngster, now his every touch of the ball is greeted with loud booing.
Nonetheless, when asked about the prospect of returning, he said that Liverpool are a club that has done a lot for his career and he wouldn t rule it out. On the other hand, Liverpool fans don t seem very keen on seeing him in a Red shirt again.
Would you take Raheem Sterling back at Liverpool?
