This time next week, the tournament from which we derive our structure will be over. For weeks, you’ve been flooded with lesser brackets. You’re probably already sick of the concept of brackets now, even with some basketball games left to play. In the words of 2014 naminee and Voice of the New York City Subway Bernie Wagenblast, we are sorry for any inconvenience. We’ve been late before, but we’re always proud of the bracket we eventually deliver, and this year is no different. Good food takes time to prepare, and we are offering a feast: Help yourself to some Salami Blessing, Duckens Nazon, or Tuna Altuna — and that’s just one quadrant of our spread. Please, dig in, make yourself comfortable. Let’s catch up. Did you hear about Reality Winner? She is currently being held in a Georgia jail, accused of leaking classified NSA material related to Russian interference in our latest presidential election. No fewer than 17 of our fans brought her to our attention. In some years, an NSA leaker named Reality Winner would be the height of absurdity in the news, but as far as Trump Era supporting characters go, she’s somewhat middle of the road. That’s how we felt about her name, too. Once upon a time, back when NOTY was a few sheets of paper tacked to a dorm room wall, she would have been a high seed, but after combing through so many monikers, her name didn’t sound like a winner at all. Have you tried a Lukas Chalupa? It goes great with a little Yo’Heinz Tyler on top. The more names we look at, the easier it is to suffer from fatigue. Many of the names we feature are assisted by the surprise of hearing them for the first time. The first time we came across a person called Taco, it was a delight. Now, it’s a stomachache, and not a single Taco made the 2018 bracket. And don’t even get me started on the Dicks. The only to combat the fatigue is to dig deeper, to seek out new surprises even when it feels like the best ones have already been uncovered. To find this year’s one seeds, you checked in with us from football fields in Florida, high schools in Missouri, doctor’s offices in California, and universities in Nigeria. Without You The People, we never would have been able to keep up our promise of a bracket we can take pride in. So I’d like to propose a toast to you, the amateur onomasts of the world. You’re the only reason we’re able to combat name fatigue. Without you, we would not be here, on the precipice of our 31st tournament, ready to spend several more weeks bemoaning the defeat of our favorite contenders, done in by underdogs whose names describe bodily functions or repeatedly mention watercraft (please don’t make a mistake like that again.) Now then, let’s pop our Corky Boozé, pour some Chardonnay Beaver, and raise our glasses to another wonderful year of ballots, debates, upsets, and, ultimately, the reality of a winner. The Sir’Zion Dance will begin in a couple of days, at which point it will be up to you, the voter, to decide the 2018 Name of the Year. Voting will begin shortly on nameoftheyear.com. Manchester United have refused to be drawn on reports Bebe s move to Old Trafford is being investigated by Portuguese anti-corruption police.
A reported three million pounds has gone missing from the transfer fee which was negotiated between Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes and United in August 2010.
It was claimed by directors of Vitoria Guimaraes that a sum of around three millions pounds went to Bebe s agent as part of the dealings between to the two clubs, although the agent s company would neither confirm nor deny the police had contacted them.
A United spokesman told The Guardian: There is no need to comment at this stage because no one is alleging any wrongdoing by us.

Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic said he stayed at the club as president Mario Cognigni told him they would vie for the Champions League.

Roman Pavlyuchenko has been a revelation at Euro 2008. The Russian striker impressed with his movement and positioning which compensated for his less-than-clinical finishing. Now, the Russian striker seems to be in-demand for clubs across Europe, but his club, Spartak Moscow, will not sell to just anybody.
According to The Daily Mirror, Tottenham have had a £10 million bid for the striker rejected on the pretext that they are not a Champions League club.
We have received two offers. One of them is from an English team. Said Sergei Shalvo, and official of Spartak Moscow, according to The Daily Mirror.
Since it s not a team playing in European Champions League we are more likely than not to reject their offer.

Sepp Blatter has called on FIFA s member organisations to follow its lead on anti-corruption and help make football fully transparent.
The organisation was embroiled in a bribery scandal in 2011 when Blatter s presidential rival, Mohamed Bin Hammam, was accused of offering members of the Executive Committee cash in exchange for votes.
Bin Hammam was banned from the sport for life following a number of failed appeals, while CONCACAF president Jack Warner, who had been the subject of a number of accusations over corruption throughout his 11-year reign, resigned his post.
It was the latest in a long line of accusations to be levelled at football s governing body, with some stretching back to when Joao Havelange ousted Stanley Rous as president in 1974.

Market: AC Milan win and over 1.5 goals
Odds: 21/20 @
Smelling a real chance to extend their buffer at the top of the Serie A table, AC Milan will make the trip to a struggling Sampdoria on Sunday night.
Starting with the hosts, throwing away the lead last weekend and having to settle for a point against relegation scrappers Torino, Sampdoria have rather drastically struggled after a stunning run during October. Now continuing to freefall down the Serie A table and enduring by far their most worrying rut of the season so far, former Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri has seen his side fail to win any of their last five matchups across all competitions. With their recent issues highlighted by a 3-1 drumming at the hands of Genoa in the Coppa Italia a fortnight ago, S…
Chelsea have confirmed the club will appeal against FIFA s ruling that a two-window transfer ban will stand.
FIFA announced on Wednesday that Chelsea will not be able to sign players until 2020, although their initial appeal was partially upheld and they will now be permitted register players under the age of 16.
Chelsea, though, continue to deny any wrongdoing after they were sanctioned in relation to 29 cases where regulations relating to the international transfer and registration of players under the age of 18 were breached.
The club said in a statement responding to FIFA s ruling that Chelsea will take their case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
Chelsea FC has today received the decision of the FIFA Appeal Committee, the statement read…

Sassuolo secured a sixth-place finish and kept their chances to qualify for next season s Europa League alive with a season-closing 3-1 Serie A victory over 10-man Inter on Saturday.
Eusebio Di Francesco s side have never played European football before but will now be hoping for a Juventus victory over AC Milan in next weekend s Coppa Italia final, which would be enough for them to seal a continental berth.
Milan s defeat to Roma ultimately made Sassuolo s victory irrelevant in the race for sixth, but that result was not known when Matteo Politano s deflected strike put the home side in the box seat after six minutes at Citta del Tricolore.
Lorenzo Pellegrini doubled the advantage with another goal against the run of play before Rodrigo Palacio finally got Inte…
Manchester City have been having some ride under Pep Guardiola, winning major trophies each year and continuously being named by most as No. 1 favourites in any competition, but there s still one that they haven t been able to nail. The biggest one.
It s obviously something to think about for the Premier League champions, and here s what Kevin De Bruyne is thinking ahead of their second-leg clash with RB Leipzig in the round of 16 of the Champions League.
We ve obviously not won it but I felt we ve done really well in the Champions League.

Gianni Infantino believes there should be way more football as he defended FIFA s expansion of the World Cup and new Club World Cup proposal.
Infantino was re-elected as FIFA president at the FIFA Congress on Thursday after running unopposed.
FIFA confirmed earlier this week that the 2026 World Cup will consist of 48 teams, up from 32, split into 12 groups of four, while plans were also confirmed for an expanded Club World Cup containing 32 teams.
Speaking at the Congress in Rwanda, Infantino said: When I hear there is too much football, yes, maybe in some places, but not everywhere. In fact, in most parts of the world there is not enough football played.
We need way more and not less competitions, we want football to develop worldwide.
